We work to help local charities and support community initiatives with marketing, promotional ideas, and concepts.
Starboard Communications’ Marketing Stimulus 2020
This program was designed to assist local businesses in getting back to work as we all struggle with the new normal that the COVID-19 pandemic has placed us in. We did this by providing 4 lucky businesses access to our audiences. It was open to all organizations of any size within our broadcasting footprint that includes businesses Brighton to Bancroft to Napanee and all of Prince Edward County.
Starboard Communications provided over $25,000 as a cumulative total of radio and digital advertising grants to regional businesses consisting of:
- 1 valued at $10,000 CDN (awarded to Hidden Goldmine Bakery in Madoc)
- 1 valued at $8000 CDN (awarded to The Apple Store – Cooney Farms in Stirling)
- 1 valued at $5000 CDN (awarded to Quinte Hearing Centre in Belleville)
- 1 valued at $2000 CDN (awarded to Arabella Retirement Living in Belleville)
- 1 valued at $2000 CDN (awarded to Quinte Canine in Quinte West)
- 1 valued at $2000 CDN (awarded to Consumer Flooring in Belleville)
- Applicant bonuses (two-week radio schedule on each station, with 14 x 00:30-second commercials per week) were awarded to: OMG! What a Hotdog (Belleville), Quinte Boat Docks (Belleville) and Indra Grocery (Belleville)
Starboard Cares Bears
These adorable stuffed bears are provided comfort to children, impacted by trauma in emergency situations.
The bears were generously sponsored by clients at Starboard Communications Ltd. (Cool 100, 95.5 Hits FM and InQuinte.ca.)
Halloween Food Drive 2019
Families were invited to celebrate Halloween early with a day of fun at the Quinte Mall on Sunday, October 27th, 2019.
Halloween trick-or-treaters were also the giving spirit this year, donating to families in need in Quinte West at BooFest.
The Starboard Cares family introduced a food drive, to help fill the shelves at Gleaners Food Bank and the Trenton Care & Share Food Bank.
Nurses Week 2019
We teamed up with multiple McDonald’s Canada locations in Quinte to head out and surprise some local nurses with coffee, cookies and muffins!
Thursday, September 12th was the day to grab coffee at McDonald’s! We helped support the local Alzheimer’s Society during their Coffee Break Campaign Day!
0.50 cents from the sale of every M, L and XL Coffee Sold at McDonald’s restaurants in Belleville, Trenton, Picton and Madoc was donated to help support local families facing Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Operation Stand Proud 2019
On Canada Day weekend, alongside Leon’s Trenton, we honoured our Canadian Armed Forces in a big way!
We along with the community broke the Official Guinness World Record for the Largest Human Maple Leaf as a way to show our appreciation to the men, women and families who serve our country.
Not only that, the event raised over $22,000 for the Canadian Armed Forces charity, Solider On, which inspires recovery and rehabilitation for former and serving military members through the transformative power of sport.
