On-Air Features

In October 1993 CJOJ-FM OJ 95.5 began on-air testing and officially signed on, December 1st, taking listening to the next level! Studios and offices were located at 354 Pinnacle Street, Belleville.

Radio history was made again in 2002. On July 26th of that year, the CRTC approved the application by Starboard Communications Ltd. to acquire CJOJ-FM and CHCQ-FM.

On February 7, 2003, CJOJ elevated the format to Classic Hits – 95.5 FM.

Classic Hits 95.5 and its sister station Cool 100.1 FM moved in January 2010 to their new home at 497 Dundas Street West. This building, acquired by Starboard Communications on May 1, 2009, underwent significant renovations to accommodate new, state-of-the-art broadcast technology.

In 2010, the station rebranded as 95.5 Hits FM, staying with the adult hits format.  It remains the area’s go-to for the adult hits you want to hear!

95.5 Hits FM’s current on-air line-up includes Mark Philbin and Charity Brown, hosting “Mark & Charity Mornings” on weekday mornings. Charity hosts the 9 am – 12 pm midday show. Emily Quesnelle then takes over to host the afternoon drive show until 6 pm.
